I wasn’t asleep, I was drunk!

So…

I got nothing.

I was stupid and went running outside again yesterday.  And it was even HOTTER than Monday.  However, I was slightly smarter this time.  I went and stashed water along the way (it was a 3 mile course) so at least I was able to stop and walk and drink a little bit before going off again.  Although I felt kind of like I was participating in a scavenger hunt or something.  I tried to put the bottles in places that were easy to get to, but still kind of hidden so nobody either took them or threw them out (there are bus stops at the two markers).  People were kind of looking at me odd…but whatever.

I didn’t feel sick this time which is an improvement but OH MY GOD I was SO HOT!  I actually took off my T-shirt and was running in my tank top (which I HATE doing b/c it’s so fitted (it has to be fitted to strap down the girls) and not the most attractive look on me) but I was seriously so hot I didn’t give a shit what other people thought.  There was this insanely hot wind blowing as well.  Which…normally…should cool you off…but this wind just made me HOTTER.  AND even worse…it blew directly into my face for the first two miles so I freaking wasted most of my energy just running into it and attempting to breathe.

I didn’t think I was going to be able to make the last mile back.  I did a weird run yesterday.  I ran the first mile, then turned around and ran half a mile back, then turned around again and ran the half mile back in the other direction, then ran the last mile to the end.  So it was a total of 3 miles, but in a retarded way.  What I SHOULD have done was forgot the middle mile and just ran straight back.  I KNEW my legs were going to be too tired to run that third mile after fighting the wind the whole way there.

But…I have discovered I am stubborn.  Ridiculously stubborn.  Since I had said I was going to do the full 3 miles, I HAD to do the full three miles.  I was right…after the second mile, my legs were were so tired I just wanted to sit down on the side of the road…or ask a trucker for a ride back to my car (I don’t think you realize how HARD this wind was blowing…it actually blew me off track a few times), but I was still a mile from the office so I had no other choice but to finish it.  I finally made it to the driveway at work and I honestly wanted to ask security to drive me to my car b/c I didn’t think I could walk the rest of the way.

I am so sucky at this running outside thing.  It pisses me off.  Why am I able to run 5 miles on a treadmill, but struggle to run 2-3 miles outside?  Argh.

Today is a cross-train day, then tomorrow is a rest day (THANK GOD!).  Then I have to run Sat and Sun (we’ll see if that actually happens).  My legs need a break.
