I call the big one ’spikey’

How come it’s 65 degrees on Saturday, and only 32 degrees today?  Stupid weather.

My Friday didn’t get any better when I got to work, but no need to get into that.  Let’s just say I finally got to work around 4:30AM(?) and didn’t leave until 5:30PM.  I was supposed to workout that day, but after that horrible day, I said screw it and went home. 

I probably went to bed by about 9, and I was just so tired ALL WEEKEND from working 3AM-3PM four days that week.  So…I pretty much was lazy all weekend as well and didn’t do ANYTHING.  Literally.  I read 8 books.  Does that tell you how lazy I was?  (I read really fast…so don’t think 8 books is weird or a lie or anything). 

However, after falling behind last week and not doing so hot with the running or the gym, I need to step it up a bit this week.  I started out today with a good 3-miler.  Still super slow, but whatever, I got the distance in so I don’t really care.  (Ok…that’s kind of a lie…I DO care that I’m slow…but I’m not really  motivated enough to actually WORK on it…so I’m just going to settle for staying slow). 

I actually start my official “training” for the half marathon on next Monday.  We’ll see how that goes.  :-)  I’m still trying to decide if I want to run the Ukrop’s 10K this year.  I remember thinking the 8K was crowded and it only had 7000 people in it…I’m not sure I can handle 35,000 people on the same roads (even with the wave starts). 

However, it falls right in the middle of the half marathon training and would actually be a good time to run one.  Blah…so torn! Does anyone think I should actually run it? 

Also, I have randomly lost 18 lbs since Christmas/New Years time.  I’m a little confused.  I really haven’t done THAT much better on the whole working out thing, I’m eating like CRAP, and yeah…I’m not sure why I’ve lost that.  Also, the only way I can tell I’ve lost the weight is that now my pants fall off my butt all the time (yet…oddly enough I still don’t fit into the next size down…shouldn’t 18lbs be another size smaller?…stupid half size pants are so needed right now!).  Also…doesn’t 18lbs seem a bit excessive for only 2-3 weeks? 

Not too sure what’s going on with that.  But hey…if I keep that up I should be super skinny for the two weddings I have in the spring/summer this year.  :-)

Anyways, most rambling post ever.  So…plans for this week:

Monday: Run 3 miles
Tuesday: Run 2 miles and gym
Wednesday: nothing (or maybe gym)
Thursday: Run 3 miles
Friday: Run 2 miles and gym
Saturday: probably nothing
Sunday: probably nothing

I added a fourth day of running this week to make up for my lack of running last week…but I’m going to leaave one of those 2 mile runs up to how I’m feeling that day.  If I’m tired or super sore…I’ll probably just leave it out and stick with the gym only.  (I know…I’m such a rebel).

  1. 18 lbs. in 3 weeks? Wow! That seems crazy, but maybe the running is kick-starting some crazy metabolism or something. Or else you have a tapeworm. :)

    I hear you on the half sizes for pants! I have ONE pair of jeans that fit perfectly and the rest are totally baggy.
