Hey, look at those abs. They all have six packs. All I have is a keg.

So…first things first.  Woohoo…I no longer live in the apartment.  All my stuff is out and I cleaned the carpets today.  Sweet!  No more moving!

Anyways, I ran the 10k on Saturday and I had such a GOOD time!

I forgot to post my goal time before the race so it’s probably kind of pointless to state it now…but I was aiming for between 72-78 minutes (um…72 was kind of a reach goal…but I put it out there figuring it wouldn’t really happen).

So…my final time…75 minutes and 10 seconds!  Woohoo!

The first mile and the last mile kind of sucked because we were running on a cobblestone street and it was really bothering my foot and my knee.  But, once we got off the cobblestone the rest of the run was great.

However, I have discovered I really like running alone.  People make me SO mad!

The run was a seeded run (over 32,000 people signed up) and I was obviously very far back.  So, we finally get to the starting line, and I’m right up front and off to the side (exactly where I want to be), when these two ladies come running up saying they missed their corral and should they just start now?  The lady in charge said no, they had to wait and start with this wave.  So…they just kind of shouldered their way in front of me and pushed me out of the way so I was now stuck behind them and was boxed in.

Then, when we started, they WALKED!

So I stepped on the back of her shoes.  (Kind of on purpose I admit).

Yeah…I’m a brat.

Then there were just some rude people on the course.  I was running and needed to cough so I was trying to do it without coughing ON everyone and this lady got all mad at me and started MOCKING my coughing and said if I needed to pass I should just pass and not cough like that.

I told her she was a moron and I couldn’t breathe and was coughing to clear my lungs.  Then I passed her.

Seriously.  Hate people

Anyways, this week

Monday: off
Tuesday: Run 4
Wednesday: gym
Thursday: Run 4
Friday: gym
Saturday or Sunday: Run 9
Saturday or Sunday: off

Have a great week!

Hi…Friday…I love you!  What can I bribe you with to make you never leave?

Seriously.  Week from Hell!  But it’s finally over!!!

And now its actually getting better!  I skipped the gym (seriously…need to be beaten for that one) and got home and there was an awesome package from my sister L on the porch.  I love you L!

Now, I get to go pick up my race packet downtown in a few hours and grab some dinner with friends.  This dinner will most likely also consist of some alcoholic mood enhancers.  But what good dinner doesn’t?

Then tomorrow morning I get to run in the 10k in the pouring rain (is it weird I think that’s actually a good thing) and no matter how slow I run…I’m guaranteed a PR b/c I’ve never run a 10k before!  How much better can you get???

After the race will most likely suck since I have to go clean the old apartment…but when I finish cleaning…I never have to go back!  Yay!

So…this past week can kiss my butt because it’s finally over.

Quick Recap:
Monday - Ran 8
Tuesday - gym
Wednesday - off
Thursday - Ran 2.5 then got scared of the lightning and went home.  Then ran another 2 miles later that night.
Friday - should have gone to the gym but went home instead
Saturday - yay 10k!

Not too awful right?

He’s a Jimmy Carter with a fox attitude.

Today has just been one long drawn out day.

I don’t even want to begin discussing work.  Let’s just say it was work.  :-)

I am also ridiculously sick of moving.  However, I made one of my last trips to the storage unit taking crap from my apartment.  I still have a bunch of bags to take to goodwill, and have I mentioned I STILL haven’t bothered to pack up the bathroom.  But, I think 1 or 2 more trips and all my stuff will be out of the apartment (how annoying is it to move the majority of your stuff by yourself using a freaking car?).  Then I plan to actually clean it this weekend.  And hand in my keys on Monday or Tuesday and I will no longer be the renter there.

THANK GOD!

Now, if only I could get my new bedroom organized.  I feel like I still have too much stuff (and I got rid of most of it!).

My trainer also gave me my schedule for the next 4 weeks (OH MY GOD THE HALF MARATHON IS IN FOUR WEEKS!!!!).  I am getting super duper nervous about it.  It doesn’t help that lame boy Figgs totally BAILED on me and isn’t going to run it anymore.  So now it’s just me and K.

I have another race coming up this weekend, so hopefully that will be fun.  I’m running in the Ukrop’s 10K which has WAY too many people running it, but at least I know I’ll be forced to run this weekend.  Since I apparently suck at weekend runs.

Ugh anyways, I’m going to get back to working on my room…yay no working out today!

I realized I forgot to post my weekly schedule (which is apparently not helping to keep me on track…but whatever…I’m still posting it!)

Monday: Run 8 miles
Tuesday: gym
Wednesday: off
Thursday: Run 4 miles
Friday: gym
Saturday: 10K (6.2 miles)
Sunday: off

Have a happy hump day!

If you’re talking about laying off the insanity peppers, I’m way ahead of you

Yay almost finished moving!  All my furniture is in my new place, and all that’s really left is the last minute crap that will most likely end up going in the dumpster.  However, I have to admit, now that the furniture is out…I have NO desire to return to the apartment and finish getting everything out.  I kind of just want to leave it all there and have the complex take care of it.  Sadly…I can’t.

Also, Oscar is apparently having some HORRIBLE abondonment issues.  He’s freaking out being in a new place and anytime I leave the room he panics.  It’s so sad.  He seriously cries and whines and barks and I feel awful.  I hope he gets used to the new place soon!

I pretty much didn’t do my 8 miles over the weekend (due to the whole moving situation), but I did run them today.  And they SUCKED!  Let’s say that one more time.  They SUCKED BIG TIME!

Let’s just say I came about 30 seconds from pooping my pants.  Ugh.  I went to the bathroom before I started running so I should have been ok.  But, when I got to the 2 mile mark, I started feeling a funny rumbling in my tummy.  Unfortunately the bathroom is a half mile away from there, so I kept going figuring I was still ok and I would just stop in half a mile.  But, after another quarter mile, the stomach rumbling got MUCH worse.

Then, I got to the path leading up to the bathroom and had to stop because seriously, I was going to poop if I didn’t stop right then.  I managed to make it the next 30 feet to the bathroom but it was close.  VERY CLOSE.    I have NO idea why that happened…but seriously…never want that to happen again.

Even after stopping for the bathroom break, it took me about an hour and 42 minutes, which is actually still on pace for a sub 3 hour half marathon.  Maybe it’s possible to actually meet that goal!

Anyways, I still feel like poop from my run…so…I’m going to bed.  Yay bed!

I have the bladder the size of a Brazil nut.

So part of the reason for me being so grumpy may have something to do with the fact that next week is the worst week of the month.  Sigh.  Sometimes I hate being a girl.

Anyways, I’m hoping it also explains why I’ve been so EXHAUSTED this week.

I reattempted my 4 miler today and I did it but it felt so S-L-O-W…I honestly thought it took at least an hour to run the freaking 4 miles, but then when I finished I realized it wasn’t much slower than normal.  It took 49 minutes which is basically a 12.5 min/mile average.  Not great, but not exactly my worst time ever.  So…not sure why it felt so slow, but whatever, it’s finished.

So, now I’m super nervous about my upcoming 8 miler on Sunday (I had to change it from 6 since I’m running a 10k next weekend instead).  If it felt that crappy  to just run 4 miles, how am I supposed to run twice that?  Especially the day after I move.

However, yay moving!  I just want this whole thing to be over with…and after this weekend, it almost will be!  Woohoo!

I feel like I’m almost moved out, but then I keep finding “things” that I haven’t figured out what to do with.  Or that I haven’t even looked at.  Like, I haven’t even STARTED packing my kitchen.  Or my bathroom.  Or my OTHER bathroom.  God knows what crap is in there.  And granted, none of the rooms should take long to pack up and empty out, but it’s just the thought that I feel like I’ve been in the process of moving for FOREVER…and yet I still have a bunch of stuff not done.  Sigh.  I’m hoping once the furniture is gone…I’ll feel like I’ve made more progress haha.

Anyways, doing some last minute packing so have a great weekend!

And I press this button and the door opens like magic

I have decided there is something wrong with me (as my family thinks…you’re just now figuring this out?).  I have been insanely exhausted this week.  It’s been a struggle to make it through the work day…let alone work out afterwards.

I went to the gym Monday and felt so lazy the whole time.  Yesterday, I actually was so tired I skipped running and went home and fell asleep around 5 and slept until the next morning (I woke up twice to take Oscar out) but I slept like a rock.

Today, I attempted to do my 4 miler that I was supposed to do yesterday, and I struggled to run 2.5 miles before finally giving up.  Even my sister told me that was a pathetic attempt :-P.  Thanks.

I’m hoping tomorrow’s run goes a little better.  I guess we’ll see.

Blah!

I’ve also been SUPER grumpy lately, and everything is getting to me.  Especially this person who keeps commenting on EVERYTHING I do or eat lately.

Seriously, here is just a small collection of things I’ve heard this week:

“wow, I can’t believe you’re eating that…there is so much fat in there”
“I would never eat that, it’s so fattening”
“There is so much sugar in your drink, why are you drinking that?”
“Wow…you ate your whole salad already?”
“Oh my god…do you know how much FAT is in that?”
And my favorite…
“Oh, I don’t mean fat like you, you’re pleasantly plump, these people were HUGE”.

Um…thanks?

Ok, one of my biggest pet peeves is people commentating on what I eat or pointing out how much fat is in an item of food.  Seriously.  I KNOW how much fat is in the food, but sometimes I want to eat it anyway.  SHUT UP!

Also, the majority of food this person is talking about, is really not that bad.  For example, two slices of bacon are not going to kill me or cause me to gain 50 lbs.  My irrational fear of scurvy (seriously…I have this fear of getting it) has me drinking a bottle of cranberry juice every morning (about 1.5 servings).  Yes, there is sugar in it, but it’s not as sugary as the iced teas and sodas you drink, and at least I get my daily servings of vitamin C.

And if I eat salad every day of the week, I’m allowed to occassionally eat a sandwich or some pasta or god forbid some pizza!  I don’t make any comments on the extra caramel and FOUR sugars you put in your drink, or the 10 tablespoons of salad dressing you slather all over a side salad.  Or the greasy sandwiches you get off the grill that you think are healthy.

So, do me a favor.  Don’t talk about food to me!  I don’t want to hear it.

You will drain, defrost, and surrender that ball. And I will use it to bombard you.

Yeah, I’ve got nothing today.  The gym was super crowded and my workout kind of sucked.  I feel like I did a lot of standing around waiting for machines and I just couldn’t get into it.  However, I DID up my weights on a lot of the exercises so maybe I did more than I thought?

Anyways, this week’s running is back up again.

Monday: WT and XT
Tuesday: Run 4 miles
Wednesday: WT and XT or off…not sure yet
Thursday: Run 3.5 miles
Friday: WT and XT or off (depends on Wednesday)
Saturday: Run 6 miles and move.
Sunday: off

I’m contemplating moving my 6 mile run to either Tuesday or Thursday to avoid running a long run on the day I’m moving.  Or I may just run 6 miles on Saturday and be super tired for moving day haha.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

I’m as sure of it as my voice is annoying

So, there was no moving of furniture this weekend.  Stupid rain (actually…stupid open trailor…).  That means it’s pushed back to NEXT weekend…and I can’t go home anymore.  Sigh.

Hey, but I’m not a COMPLETE rain phobe.

I ran a 5k on Saturday morning and had a surprisingly good time.  The weather was rainy and the course was anything but flat (as it had been descriped before registering), and of course I was slow.  But it felt good.

I picked my mark and refused to let the girl beat me.  Seriously, not sure why she irritated me so much (it may have had something to do with her trying to pull her husbands pants down…it was weird)…but I hated her before the race even started and I was DETERMINED she would NOT beat me.  (Yeah…I’m a bit of a bitch…bite me).

I ran this same course last year, and I remembered it was nothing but rolling hills so I couldn’t go out too fast.  Lucky for me…the mark took off like a jack rabbit on crack.  I let her take off and figured I would just catch her later.  I was right.

We hadn’t even made it to the first hill (which is less than a quarter mile away) and she was already walking.  Sweet.  But, it was funny.  Every time I would pass her she would start sprinting again.  Then, get tired and walk again.  I just kept running and figured I could always beat her at the end if necessary.

So…let’s just say…around 1.5 miles I passed her for the last time…and she was done.  Seriously…I PASSED SOMEONE!  FOR REAL!  IN A RACE!  Yay!  I ran my average slow pace (yay slow!) and even with the hills I kept it under 12 min/miles so I was content.

Maybe not the best race ever run, but not awful.

Also, this race rocks.  For such a tiny race (seriously…there was less than 50 people there and it wasn’t even chip timed), they give away A LOT of stuff.  We got the typical shirt and number plus they threw in an entertainment book (which alone costs $25), plus a free meal at Q’doba, plus a bunch of other gift cards/coupons/things I forget.  Then, after the race, they did a drawing for another 15 prizes.  And they were awesome prizes.

They gave away 3 gift cards for a free pair of running shoes at the running store I always go to, two memberships for free oil changes for an entire year, rock climbing passes, etc.

I actually won something!

I got a week free at boot camp and I’m so excited!  Seriously…I love getting my butt kicked while exercising…and getting it for free is even better!  I’ve been wanting to try it for a few months now, but it’s expensive…and if I hated it, it would be a big waste of money.  So, now I get to try it and see if it’s worth it!

I also got a new shoe bag and a really cool flashing red light I’m supposed to wear when running so drivers see me.  I really liked the flashing light.  Seriously…I was having way too much fun with it.

But anyways,  yay winning something!  Even if it wasn’t the race.  And yay not coming in last place!  I totally rock haha.

Uh, is “crap hole” one word?

I had a really funny post written about my awesome speedy run today.  But somehow I pushed delete and it exited the post without saving it or anything and I don’t feel like typing again.

Here’s the recap:

I ran a super fast 2 1/2 miles today.  Go Speedracer!  I ran it in about 25 minutes (you think…Go Speedracer?  More like Go Molasses!).

During my run my toenail spontaneously decided to split basically down the middle (more like 1/3 of the way over but whatever).  It was very bloody and painful and I’m not a fan.  I have NO IDEA why this happened.  I don’t run enough miles for my toe nails to be falling off or breaking in half.  (Could it be scurvy?)

I think my foot took offense to me calling it ugly the other day (or it could be scurvy!?!)

I’m also going to buy some new running shoes tomorrow.  I realized my current pair has about 400 miles (which could explain why they weren’t as comfortable on my long runs as they used to be) and my back up pair has about 350.  I was hoping to hold out a few more weeks, but I step the miles back up next week and I think I’m going to need the new ones.  Sigh.

Anyways, have a great weekend!  Pray we don’t get rain since I’m supposed to be moving my furniture on Saturday after running a fast 5k (ha!)!

Beware my scented candles…ooooh…scented candles

So, has anyone else noticed the weird “injuries/damages” done to your body by running?

For example, my feet.  I used to have relatively nice feet.  I would get pedicures at least once a month, and they were not ugly in sandals.  However, my sister mentioned getting pedicures before her wedding…and I realized I’m slightly embarassed to show my feet in public now.  Seriously.  The bottom of my feet are super calloused and dry looking.  I have blisters everywhere, and my toe nails are just gross.  It’s digusting what running has done to my feet.

Or yesterday.  My sports bra was so uncomfortable the entire time…and I have NO idea why.  It’s the same one I wear running all the time.  It’s usually super comfortable and I love it.  But seriously, no matter what I did, I couldn’t get it adjusted right.  I finished the run and didn’t really think anything of it.

Until I got home and showered and realized I had rubbed the skin raw under my right boob.  And I mean raw.  I have NO idea how I didn’t notice this at the time…but seriously…it’s freaking KILLING me now (and my shower was one of the most painful moments of my life.  Also…wearing a bra…SUCKED).  I was going to go to the gym after work, but I decided I needed a day off.  So…I came home instead.

So…now I can spend my evening packing.  Sigh.

Anyways, I’ll be back to running tomorrow…and hopefully the sports bra will be better.  I’m also going to the running store on Friday (I have to pick up my race packet there) so I may look to buy a new one.  Maybe I need a smaller one or something.  I’m also contemplating getting a new pair of running shoes because the ones I’m using now…aren’t really supporting anymore.

I’m just full of all sorts of problems haha.
