And I press this button and the door opens like magic

I have decided there is something wrong with me (as my family thinks…you’re just now figuring this out?).  I have been insanely exhausted this week.  It’s been a struggle to make it through the work day…let alone work out afterwards.

I went to the gym Monday and felt so lazy the whole time.  Yesterday, I actually was so tired I skipped running and went home and fell asleep around 5 and slept until the next morning (I woke up twice to take Oscar out) but I slept like a rock.

Today, I attempted to do my 4 miler that I was supposed to do yesterday, and I struggled to run 2.5 miles before finally giving up.  Even my sister told me that was a pathetic attempt :-P.  Thanks.

I’m hoping tomorrow’s run goes a little better.  I guess we’ll see.

Blah!

I’ve also been SUPER grumpy lately, and everything is getting to me.  Especially this person who keeps commenting on EVERYTHING I do or eat lately.

Seriously, here is just a small collection of things I’ve heard this week:

“wow, I can’t believe you’re eating that…there is so much fat in there”
“I would never eat that, it’s so fattening”
“There is so much sugar in your drink, why are you drinking that?”
“Wow…you ate your whole salad already?”
“Oh my god…do you know how much FAT is in that?”
And my favorite…
“Oh, I don’t mean fat like you, you’re pleasantly plump, these people were HUGE”.

Um…thanks?

Ok, one of my biggest pet peeves is people commentating on what I eat or pointing out how much fat is in an item of food.  Seriously.  I KNOW how much fat is in the food, but sometimes I want to eat it anyway.  SHUT UP!

Also, the majority of food this person is talking about, is really not that bad.  For example, two slices of bacon are not going to kill me or cause me to gain 50 lbs.  My irrational fear of scurvy (seriously…I have this fear of getting it) has me drinking a bottle of cranberry juice every morning (about 1.5 servings).  Yes, there is sugar in it, but it’s not as sugary as the iced teas and sodas you drink, and at least I get my daily servings of vitamin C.

And if I eat salad every day of the week, I’m allowed to occassionally eat a sandwich or some pasta or god forbid some pizza!  I don’t make any comments on the extra caramel and FOUR sugars you put in your drink, or the 10 tablespoons of salad dressing you slather all over a side salad.  Or the greasy sandwiches you get off the grill that you think are healthy.

So, do me a favor.  Don’t talk about food to me!  I don’t want to hear it.
