Stupid TV! Be more funny!

So I’ve been feeling very slackerish lately.  In all sorts of ways.

Haven’t been running as much (or as far), haven’t been posting hardly at all, haven’t called a lot of friends in a while (hi…please don’t forget me!), and haven’t really done anything productive in the past few weeks.  Blah!

However, now LL’s wedding is over (oh boy what an adventure THAT was), and after this week I basically have no excuse not to be running.  Sigh.  I want my excuses!

Anyways, the wedding was fun in an almost got my ass kicked kind of way.  The groom’s sister was apparently NOT a fan of me and was a little bitter that I was in the wedding.  I’ve met her twice in my life and both times she has done nothing but give me dirty looks and such.

Best moment was at the reception when she told me I was a moron and didn’t know anything, and I shouldn’t have been in the wedding since I wasn’t family.  Then she told me to go fuck myself and I swore she was going to hit me, and ran out of the room instead.  Fun times were had by all.

I just drank some more butterscotch ’shine and had a fantastic rest of the wedding.  It’s been too long since I had moonshine, so that was a fun addition to the party.  The wife of the best man got a great picture of me chugging down a shot.

As I said, fun times…fun times.

We called for a ride home expecting the company to send a sedan…yeah…they sent us a stretch limo.  So T and I got to ride home in style.  Not that either of us were sober enough to appreciate it.  But at least T’s aunt got to see it when we arrived at her house and she helped us get our stuff inside.

Needless to say, I was not at my best the next morning, but I still made it to the farewell brunch (before the bride and groom even) and I did not have another run in with the groom’s sister so yay!

However, this whole week now I’ve been exhausted and I am so looking forward to the weekend!  I am hoping to go to the Beer and Bourbon Festival this weekend.  Drunken times should be had by all.  :-)

Anyways, as I mentioned before, the running has been sadly lacking, however, the ass kicking at the gym has definitely been present.  I’m still sore from yesterday, and I have to do it again tomorrow and Friday.  Hopefully I’ll get a good run in on Saturday before the festival.  Guess we’ll see how it goes.  :-)

Happy hump day!

We need pretzels. Repeat, pretzels…

I decided to do a short 3 mile run today, but I planned to push it as fast as I could to make up for my lack of distance.  I’m still having issues breathing, so it was definitely a hellacious run.  I was around mile 2.5 and I’m sucking in air and my legs feel like weights and I am hating myself for ever deciding to go running today.  All I wanted was to be home sitting on my couch drinking a cold beer.

I’m miserable, and thinking how crappy and hot out it is.  Then, I see 4 people on the path heading towards me.  Two are in wheelchairs and the other two are pushing the chairs.  I’m not really thinking about anything other than being a brat and wishing I could stop running.

But the two guys in the wheelchair smile at me and tell me that it’s such a beautiful day out and they’re so excited to be out for their run and it’s great to see someone else out for their daily run.

Um…hi shame.

Let’s just say after that I decided to stop whining about the running, and just be happy that I really can do a daily run under my own power and I have no room to complain.

It was perfect timing and I finished the three miles in 29 minutes.

Anyways, have a fantastic hump day!

It’s not quite breakfast, it’s not quite lunch, but it comes with a slice of cantaloupe at the end.

I’m very glad I had such low expectations for my 10K this weekend.  It did not go well at all.  And the majority of the problems were completely my fault.  Sigh.

First stupid mistake.  I invited K to join the race with me.  I have decided that she is my unlucky charm.  (Ha…don’t be offended K…it’s not really you…I’m just ridiculously superstitious).  But, whenever we run (I run she walks) in a race I do TERRIBLY!  It’s not fun.

Second mistake, I didn’t eat dinner the night before.  I have no idea why, but I wasn’t hungry AT ALL and couldn’t even force myself to eat.  I planned to stop and get a bagel with peanut butter the next morning, but we left a little late, so I had no time to grab anything.  I was stuck with half a granola bar and was still hungry before even starting the race.  Can we guess how crappy and unenergetic I was feeling during the race?

Third mistake, I wore the crappiest clothes for running in the rain.  I’m pretty sure I gained about 15lbs from water weight (as in rain water) during that race.

Last few things were just bad luck.  It was really rainy.  I couldn’t breathe AT ALL for the first three miles, and nothing helped.  The allergy meds made me super dehydrated and the inhaler wasn’t helping either.

Yeah.  Super crappy run.  I finished with an average 13:30 min/mile.  That’s slow…even for me.

So I’ve been taking it kind of easy this week.  Didn’t do anything yesterday, and did a relatively easy gym workout today.  Tomorrow will be another 6 mile attempt.  We’ll see how that goes.

Hope everyone is having a fantastic week!

Never have I seen you look so unhappy while purchasing such a large quantity of ice cream.

I am extraordinarily angry today.  I honestly don’t know that I have ever felt such rage towards a person as I do right now.  Seriously.  ANGRY.

However, I am attempting to deal with it in a reasonable, mature manner.  As in, I managed to not throw myself at the person and attack them.  I honestly had a vision of myself doing this:

It was not a pleasant scene.

After work I went to the gym to work out my frustration, but, unfortunately my trainer wouldn’t let me do anything too difficult today because she wants me well rested for the 10K this Sunday.  Whatever.  I have no expectations for this race.  I just want to finish it without dying.  :-)

I have very low expectations apparently.

Anyways, still super pissed.  Hope you have a good weekend.

I’m your rock and this rock is going to weigh you down for the rest of your life

I had another speed workout today and oy it sucked and was super hard.  But I feel much better about myself after finishing it.  I did 4 miles, same set up as last time.  Jogged half a mile, sprinted half a mile, jogged half a mile, sprinted…etc etc.  Last time I ran 4 miles, I just did normal speed and finished in about 46 minutes.  Today I finished all 4 miles in 38 minutes.  That’s an average 9.5 min/mile!  Seriously.  That’s awesome for me!  Hopefully these crappy workouts will actually help me get faster for real.

After running I did some core work.  Which also sucked.  I have one where I have to use the bosu ball upside down in a push-up position and totally didn’t think my arms were going to hold me up.  They were crazy shaky.  Not really sure why since it was my legs I worked…but whatever.  However, the crunches and such weren’t too bad.

I also picked up my dress for LL’s wedding yesterday and I felt almost pretty in it.  It makes me look curvy instead of chubby.  My arms still look huge, but they always look huge (even when I was skinny I had the biggest arms ever), so I’ve given up complaining about them.  But seriously, it actually looks nice on me and I’m super happy with how it turned out.  Only one more week and the wedding bit is over until July!  Woohoo!

Anyways, tomorrow is super fun knit night.  So no working out for me.  Have a great week!

Ow, I bent my Wookie

So I had a lovely weekend, but I’m so tired of driving to NJ and back in a weekend.  Seriously.  Exhausting.

I got in ridiculously late last night, and realized I had not only forgotten Oscar’s food at J’s house, I had also forgotten his leash.  So it’s 2 in the morning, and I needed to walk him before going to bed, and I had no leash (I somehow managed to lose my back up leash when I moved).  So, I ended up using a a sash/belt from my skirt as a leash.  It was ridiculous.

I really didn’t want to buy a new leash (they’re like $10 for a crappy one at Walmart), but I also refused to use this thing for the next two weeks.  So, I managed to find a $3 leash at Family Dollar.  Yet another reason I love that store!

Anyways, there was no working out this weekend because I was so busy, however, the trainer decided to make up for that and holy crap did she kick my butt today.  I’m super ridiculously sore, and I’m also exhausted (probably also doesn’t help I only got about 3.5 hours of sleep last night).

Tomorrow should hopefully be an easy running day.  Somewhere between 3-5 miles.  Shouldn’t be too bad.

Anyways, have a lovely week!

Put out an APB on a suspect driving a… car of some sort, heading in the direction of, uh… you know, that place that sells chili

Things That Suck

  • Being at work at 6 AM and leaving at 5PM
  • Having to do this EVERY day now
  • The constant rain for a WEEK
  • Walking through the swamp that used to be our yard in order to walk Oscar
  • Oscar having an allergic reaction to his vaccination that other night
  • Feeling grumpy all the time from lack of sleep
  • Having to pay personal property taxes on my car.  I miss NJ every year at this time.
  • Feeling super ugly lately
  • Having to work
  • Not running my 4 miles after work today

Things That Rock

  • Not running my 4 miles after work today
  • Getting a new lifting workout from my trainer yesterday that totally kicked my ass
  • My arms being sore from the new workout
  • Tomorrow is Friday
  • I will be seeing my family and LL this weekend
  • Going to PF Chang’s tonight with K and getting a discount from running in Nashville
  • Not killing my dog with a vaccine
  • Peanut Butter and Banana and Granola sandwiches (seriously obsessed)
  • Cucumbers
  • My new tattoo (more on that later)
  • Designing and knitting gloves to sell
  • Seeing the sun for the first time in a week
  • I don’t have orange hair (don’t ask)

Seriously, I’ve been really unhappy lately, and most of it is relating to work and how exhausted I constantly feel.  But it’s nice to remind myself not everything sucks right now.  And it’s possible to take pleasure in stupid little things.

So I’m working on making myself feel happy.

And I’ll be back to working out full time next week, so look forward to seeing my super exciting schedules again haha.

All the employees got some in exchange for waiving certain Constitutional rights.

Phew, I’ve been major slacker on here lately.

I’ve just been so busy not being at the computer this week, that I haven’t felt like taking the time to even half ass it.

I’m working out my new training schedule for the run in September, and my trainer has me doing speed work.  So not a fan.  I ran 3 miles of ghetto version Yasso 800s.  I think it was more of a fartlek type run…but the trainer kept calling them Yassos.  Whatever.

Even worse…I had to do the first set on a treadmill.  So, I ran 3.5 miles.  I basically did a half mile warm up jog, then ran a half mile at my normal pace, then sprinted a half mile (see…kind of like running 800s…but I think it’s more a fartlek run), then normal pace…etc etc.  So I sprinted 3 half miles (if you can call my faster jogging a sprint….) and ran 3 half miles at normal pace.  Lame.

However, I had a wonderful weekend in New Jersey this weekend.  We had J’s bridal shower on Saturday.  It’s always nice to get everyone from the family together.  Then we did spa day together on Sunday and I had an AMAZING massage.  However, it’s entirely possible I tipped the girl way too much.  And all because I’m a moron and can’t remember how much money I actually had in my wallet.  Sigh.  Long story all about me being a moron.

So…she either got a good tip…or a freaking FANTASTIC tip.  Can’t figure it out.

Then the drive home totally sucked.  It rained the entire way and apparently people on 95 don’t know how to accelerate past 40mph when it is raining.  Super slow trip home.

I was supposed to do my ghetto Yassos on the track outside today, however, the weather is insanely scary out right now, and lots of tornado watches in effect…so there will be none of that today.  (Go ahead and call me a wuss…I’m not blowing away like Dorothy or anything like that).

Anyways, hope all enjoyed your weekend!  Have a wonderful week!

Lucky for you I have no training plan to post yet…the next few weeks are just free for me to do what I want haha.
