My name is Ot-to. I love to get blot-to!

So work today sucked.  BIG TIME.

But…the gym was super fun.  :-)

I’m doing the same routine from the past few weeks, but I’ve only been able to do one rep so far (I’m supposed to be working up to two).  However, I think my week off helped A LOT because for the first time I was able to do the two reps!  I rock.

However, I’m not gonna lie…I’m super sore today.  But it’s in a good way so I’m happy.  :-)

Hopefully, I’ll be a little more motivated than last week.  I’m supposed to run 8.5 miles this week…so without the motivation who knows if that will get done.  Sigh.

But…on a super fantastic note…L is having her baby tomorrow!!!!  Yay new nephew/niece (to be determined tomorrow around 9:30 AM).  I’m super excited!!!!

And I get to go home on Thursday night to meet the new baby!  Yay baby!

Anyways, hope all had a wonderful weekend and have a great week!

I’ll be deep in the cold, cold ground before I recognize Missourah!

Yet another work out failure.  I didn’t feel like running on Thursday, so I decided to lift that day and just run Friday.  But, I also didn’t really feel like lifting either.  I swear I had exercise ADD that day.  I started out running, and ran 2 of 5 before deciding that it sucked and I didn’t want to do it.  Then, I went and started doing random lift for 5 minutes, cardio for 5 minutes, etc etc.  It was ridiculous how much I couldn’t focus on doing ANYTHING.  However, I did sweat a lot so hopefully it was a good workout anyway?  But, overall…FAIL.

Then after a super long day of work on Friday I was supposed to re-attempt my 5 mile speed workout.  I went to happy hour instead.  Yeah, and even though it was MUCH more fun than running 5 miles…still another FAIL!

This whole week was pretty much one big FAIL.  Hopefully next week I’ll be slightly more motivated.

I’m also currently stuck at work right now which is not making me happy.  In fact it’s pretty much making me downright UNHAPPY.  Stupid scheduling issues making us have to work every weekend until shutdown.  Oh…and did I mention that I also have to work shutdown so no time off for me?  Sigh.

Even better, I’m currently running my bay and the bay next to me b/c they didn’t want to bring in two supervisors for the amount of machines we’re running.  But I’ve never worked in that bay before, and I have no idea who these people I’m supervising are, and I don’t really like telling people I don’t know what to do.  Argh.

Oh the tribulations I face :-P

But on a funny note.  I just looked out into the core and saw security dude riding around on his Segway and was highly amused.  I don’t really see how our building is big enough to necessitate a Segway.  I have to use my own legs to walk the length of the building…so why don’t they?

However, people on Segways just look funny…so I’m amused.

Anyways, worst post ever.  Enjoy the weekend!

Awww, I thought it was about her boobs.

After another failed attempt at running 8 miles this week, I’ve decided that this is an easy week.  I think I’ve been overdoing it a bit the past few weeks, so I’m just going to ignore my long run this week and not worry about it.

I came to this conclusion after I got dressed for running, went to watch TV for half an hour before heading outside, and then fell asleep while watching The Simpsons last night and woke up at 10PM on the couch and not having any idea what was going on.

I think it was time for a break.

I also broke my shoe yesterday.

Yesterday was not a good day.

I still haven’t figured out how I broke my shoe.  But I looked down at the end of the day and the sole of my shoe was cracked in half and kind of flopping around.  I don’t get it.  The soles of these shoes are like an inch thick and yet they still managed to crack all the way through.  So…I’m refusing to spend another $100ish on ugly, uncomfortable shoes that I hate.

Therefore, I glued them together using hot melt (the glue that holds the cases together at work).  It’s not a fantastic fix…but it will hopefully get me through until September.

Today was kind of fun though…I met Ryan Briscoe and Helio Castroneves today at work.  They are both super hot.  Yet incredibly TINY.  I swear they were my height and probably both weighed about 90 lbs.  It was crazy.  And my co-worker kind of threw me in their path, and said I wanted a picture with them.  So I have the most awkward picture of me with them EVER.  As soon as I get a copy I will post it so you can see how RIDICULOUS I look in the picture.

I look TERRIFIED that they are TOUCHING ME and I didn’t know what to do with my arms and seriously, it was just a mess.  I’m sure the only impression I made on them was how pathetic I am haha.   But seriously.  Both of them.  HOT!  (Ryan Briscoe looks weird in his pictures…but super cute in real life).

Anyways, quick rundown for the week:

Monday: Easy lifting
Tuesday: Sleeping
Wednesday: 3 mile walk
Thursday: Running 5 miles
Friday: Lifting
Saturday: Working (sadly, working for real)
Sunday: Running something or other.  Not sure how far.

Anyways, happy hump day!

Men, there’s a little crippled boy sitting in a hospital who wants you to win this game. I know because.. I crippled him myself to inspire you

I was supposed to run 8ish  miles this weekend, but that was an epic fail.  You know WHY that was an epic fail?

How about the fact that I pulled a muscle in my butt and yet have absolutely NO IDEA what I did to it.  I went out Friday night and I’m pretty sure I remember everything that occurred that night.  I went to bed feeling fine (and alone) and yet I woke up with a horrible pain in my butt.

So, what did I do in my sleep?

I attempted to run on Sunday, except I felt like I was dragging my leg behind me and it was seriously painful.  So I quit after half a mile.  It was pathetic.

It feels a little better today, but still not completely great.  So I just did an upper body workout today at the gym, and I plan to attempt the 8 miles again tomorrow.

I guess I’ll see how that goes.

Pffft, English, who needs that? I’m never going to England.

I’m so tired this week.  I’ve been covering for a C-shift employee on vacation this week so I’ve been sadly working 3AM-3PM and I want to just sleep for about a week now haha.

Doesn’t help I’ve been crazy with the working out.  Today was speed work at the gym.

How pathetically slow am I that a 29:30 time for a 3 mile run is my “fast” speed.

Even sitting here typing this I’m falling asleep.  It’s kind of sad.

I just keep telling myself one more day.  That’s it.

Ok, seriously, I’m too tired to even write.  Have a great rest of the week.

We’re all pigs. Except for one difference: once in a while, we can crawl out of the slop, hose ourselves off, and act like human beings

So, do you have any fun embarassing secrets?

For example, I am secretly in love with Miley Cyrus’ music…and it embarasses me to no end to even ADMIT that.  But I have to admit, “The Climb” is one of my all time favorite running songs.  It just inspires me to greatness.  And Britney…I’m slightly in love with her new album.

This horrifies me!  I don’t usually like this type of music…now I’m practically obsessed.  It’s crazy!

I ended up listening to “the climb” on repeat for the last two of my 8 miles last night.  Even after hearing it like 6 or 7 times in a row…I was still enjoying the song.

As I said…highly embarassing.

However, after feeling intense hatred for having to run that far…I’m starting to doubt if I really want to run the half marathon in Philly in September.  It will probably still be freaking hot then, and I don’t like hot weather.  I hate it.  So I’m torn.  I could wait and run the one in November in Richmond (which will hopefully not be as hot) and would greatly decrease the number of miles I have to run each week in this awful heat and humidity.

But moving on…I had kickball again tonight.  This time we won and I scored twice.  I totally rocked the kickball game haha.  I actually really like playing.  It’s seriously fun.

And to be even more like my sister…I’m pretty sure I’m playing two-hand touch football and dodgeball next season.  (Although I don’t think she ever played two-hand touch… so at least I’m unique in that way).

Anyways, busy week this week.  Work has been crazy and I’ve been super busy afterwards.  Sigh.

Hope everyone had a happy hump day and enjoy the rest of your week!

Well thank god you’re not Santa Claus…you’d scare the hell out of children!

So I’m madly in love with my friend’s jack russel dog.  She is absolutely the SWEETEST dog (other than little O of course)and has the most amazing personality.  And he has to put her down because she has pancreatic cancer.  I’m heartbroken right now.

And all I can think about is what I will do if something like that happens Oscar.  Seriously.  So sad.

Anyways, the weekend was long and expensive and I was not a fan.

I budgeted a $40 oil change…and ended up spending almost $700 and got 4 new tires (seriously, they were TERRIBLE!).  However, my budget is now shot so I’m trying to re-work it.  Sigh.  Not really a fan right now.

Also, getting drunk on Yuengling just leaves me with a terrible hangover.  It’s not enjoyable haha.

So that was the quick recap of the weekend.  Sigh.  It was not enjoyable.

Anyways, hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.

Oh, meltdown. It’s one of these annoying buzzwords. We prefer to call it an unrequested fission surplus.

I have a couple random thoughts for today.  Enjoy the missing segues to each topic :-)

  • I was “molested” at work the other day.  Ok molested is a very strong word, but I was still slightly uncomfortable.  One of my pet peeves is when people I don’t know well touch me.  And it seems to happen to me all the time!  Random people on the street will come up and talk to me and touch my arm or my shoulder or something.  Its bizarre.  The other day at work we had an auditor (that I have met before, but am not exactly friends with) come up to me and apparently he could see the top part of my tattoo.  He started asking where the stars go and proceeded to pull down my shirt in the back and held his hand against my neck while he looked.  I was stunned and creeped out.  He realized what he did almost immediately and apologized but it was still weird.
  • I had my first kickball game last night (oh yeah…I joined a kickball team).  We got our asses kicked.  It was funny.  I also only know one person on the team…and she didn’t show up for the first game so I felt a little awkward and out of place, but I still had a good time.  We even got to drink beers during the game (as in on the field) and then went to the bar afterwards as a team.  I think I like kickball.
  • Irritatingly I have to work again on Sunday morning.  That really sucks.  However, because of this, I will now be coming back to VA on Saturday afternoon which means I will be able to participate in the beer olympics (no mom and dad…I’m not an alcoholic I swear) that evening.  Sweet.  Sunday morning should feel great haha.
  • Today at work I saw an entire group of women with mullets.  They all work in the same department and all had the same haircut.  I am just baffled.  Are they trying to make the mullet come back?   If so…WHY?
  • I have to run with KW again (yay running again!).  Unfortunately I have to get there an hour early and run 5 miles before she shows up, then run another 1-2 with her when she gets there.  It’s too hot to run 6-7 miles.  Argh.  Hate summer!
  • Is there anywhere that the weather is constantly 55 degrees?  That is my ideal running weather.  I need to find somewhere it’s like that year round.  Start looking!

OK, off to the park for running.  Happy hump day!

Like I always say, a boy without mischief is like a bowling ball without a liquid center

I feel like someone has beaten me with a stick (hopefully not the ugly stick!). I am ridiculously sore and I’m dreading my 6 mile run today. Hopefully I can actually do the whole thing!

Thursday was a gym day and as I suspected, the trainer gave me a new ridiculously hard workout. I still felt relatively ill, so I was already dreading the gym, and then she made me do all sorts of core workouts which just made my stomach have to work extra hard. Also my butt. My butt hasn’t seen that much action in…well…ever. I did mostly free weights using the balance ball, and the whole time the trainer kept yelling at me to lift up my butt. Not the most pleasant experiences.

I was sore Friday, and then I had to go and do speedwork on the treadmill. Six miles worth of speedwork. Which means I ran 6 miles on a treadmill. I think hell may be something similar to that.

I went home after the gym on Friday, and sat down on the couch…the next thing I know it was 10:30 at night. Excellent.

I Showered and went out with a few friends for some good times on the west end. Always fun.

Saturday was the laziest day. Partly because I literally felt like my entire body was one big bruise and I didn’t have the motivation or the energy to actually move off the couch. It was pathetic. I have never been so sore in my life (apparently I didn’t stretch enough after my hellish run on the treadmill).

I hung out with some friends downtown that night, but didn’t really do anything exciting. I unfortunately behaved myself and was in bed by 1:30 or so. Then proceeded to lay in bed not sleeping until about 5:30 when I dragged my butt out of bed and came to work.

On Sunday. Without pay. Awesome. Or the exact opposite.

Anyways, I’m here at work until 3:15ish then I’m off to my friend’s place and we’re going to attempt to get her running. Yay! A new convert! She’s sticking with a one mile loop and I will be attempting to run my 6 miles. All in all…should be a fun time. :-)

Hope everyone’s weekend rocks!

You guys are sick!

My first “official” week of training for the half marathon is underway and I am doing SO BAD!  If this is how it’s going to be…maybe it’s a sign I shouldn’t be trying to run it!

Monday was great.  I did an awesome gym workout and felt fantastic.  Tuesday, not so great.  I was supposed to run 4 miles and felt horrible when I got home from work so no running involved.  Awesome!  Today was supposed to be another gym day and I was going to get a new lifting/XT routine from my trainor.  Instead I came home and curled up with my heating pad for a few hours.  Yay me!

Tomorrow was supposed to be a speed workout, but I think now it’s going to end up lifting/XT.  And hopefully Friday I can do my speed workout instead.  I rock.

Even better, when I get home I still usually have a bit of work to do.  Basically, all the mechanical supervisors send me their notes at the end of the shift, I compile the notes and run a quick analysis to see how favorable the factory was.  Usually takes about 20-30 minutes to actually DO the report.

I used to wait around at work to receive all the notes (supposed to be in by 3:30 at the latest), but I usually didn’t receive them until 4:15 if not later.  I finally just started leaving work, going to the gym, then just signing in remotely to work and doing the notes from home.

Which has been fantastic because I don’t feel like I’m working super long hours anymore, and I still have the motivation to go to the gym when I leave work at 3:30 (not so much when I left at 5ish).

I attempted to the do the notes today around 5, and couldn’t manage to log in to the remote network.  ARGH!

Ended up having to drive all the way back to work just to do the notes.  I was not a fan.

However, on the way home, I went shopping and bought some yummy food for lunches and such.  And then proceeded to get caught in a torrential downpour and was soaking wet.  I do know how to have a great time!

Anyways, I have a horrendous headache from attempting to order a pair of flip flops for my sister’s wedding (oh my god why is it so difficult!!!) and I still feel like poop from earlier so I’m going to bed.

Hope everyone’s hump day has been fantastic!
