I just can’t dang-darn-diddly-darn-dang-ding-dong-diddly-darned do it!

Just a quickie:

  • We won our kickball game on Tuesday night (and I totally scored a homerun and pitched a rockin game), so I have to go play again tonight in about an hour.  Yay me!  Boo waking up tomorrow!
  • I have to work all weekend.  Boo!
  • I went running last night at 7:45.  Yay Daylight Savings Time leaving it light enough for me to get in a four mile run before it got dark and the park closed.
  • Boo having to park half a mile from the trail in the park thanks to a stupid little league tournament where apparently the ENTIRE COUNTY was at.  I’ve never seen so many people there before!
  • Yay not having to work in the bay the entire day.  We had an executive lunch today at HQ, and the guest speaker was awesome.  He was really interesting.  And super young.  He wasn’t even 40 and was already a VP.  That’s crazy for my company.  Most peeps high up are at least 60 something.  So go him!
  • Still in a grumpy mood.  And actually kind of worse after something happening at work this afternoon.  Stupid stupid.

Anyways, I got nothing.  Hope everyone is having a great week so far (yay tomorrow is Friday!)

He became Francine back in ‘76. Then he joined that cult. I think his name is Mother Shabubu now

I’ve been in a TERRIBLE mood all week and I HATE it!

I know WHY I’m in this mood and it’s pissing me off that I can’t just shake it.  I’m not sure why I’m letting it get to me…but I totally am.  And it sucks because it is so ANTI-ME!  I never let this type of shit get to me…yet for some reason it’s ALL I can think about.  Argh.

And it’s stupid!  So stupid I don’t even want to mention it.  Sigh.

Anyways, moving on.  We have kickball tonight.  We made the playoffs (tonight), and if we win we play in the finals on Thursday night.  The finals sound kind of brutal.  You basically just keep playing until you lose.  So…it has the potential to go on FOREVER with 16 teams facing off!  Yay waking up early Friday if we actually make it that far!

I went running last night and it totally sucked.  I was convinced it was going to storm later (the sky was all gray and scary looking) and they kept sending weather advisories for quarter size hail and such.  So…of course I go running.  I figured I would just run 3 miles really quickly and beat the rain.  So I did.

Except it never rained.  And it was the worst run ever.  I felt like shit the entire time and I hated it and just didn’t want to do it all.  It was about 92 outside, but it was so humid I literally felt like I could feel myself cutting through the air.  It was disgusting.  And forget breathing.  There was none of that going on for 3 entire miles.

The other crazies in the park probably thought I was going into some sort of weird seizure related asthmatic fits or something.  It was quite possibly the most uncoordinated run ever.

I tried to cheer myself up by reminding myself that at least I DID the run.  Yeah, that didn’t help.  I was just mad I ran too fast (which wasn’t all that fast) instead of running slower and doing my planned 6 miles.  Yet another reason I’m mad I’m in such a bad mood this week.  It probably wouldn’t have bothered me as much normally.

Sigh.

Stupid!

So talk about happy things.  I need to get out of this funk.  (Actually, I’ve noticed that last year around the same time I got into the same kind of funk.  Maybe it’s just the time of year for me or something?)

Why must you turn my office into a house of lies?

Montana Recap:

15 hours of traveling sucked.  We will not speak of that again.

I landed in Billings, MT and met up with my parents and we drove to Red Lodge, MT.  After a quick nap we headed over the mountains to Cody, WY (ugh…car sickness) for the rodeo.  Western humor is WEIRD!

The “host” of the rodeo set up a weird skit where he pretended to shoot these little girls and they acted out a weird death scene.  Seriously.  Odd.

Then, after the rodeo, we went back to the cabins with J and JP (and yay more car sickness).  The cabins were great.  They were covered in dead animals.  I slept on the couch below a dead bear and some random turkey butts.

The next two days were basically just spent with J doing wedding prep things (but fun things…like manis and pedis and getting hair done etc).  The area we were at was absolutely beautiful!  As soon as I find time I’ll upload the photos and post them so you can see how amazingly beautiful it really was.

However, it was covered in monstrous bugs!  I got eaten alive during the ceremony and on my last day there, I killed the BIGGEST spider I’ve ever seen in my entire life in my bathroom.  It was so large, I thought the thing would catch my shoe and throw it back at me if I tried to kill him.  I contemplated waking up my dad to make him kill it for me, but I managed to work up the nerve and after THREE times of squishing the spider it finally died.  Then it took me almost 10 minutes to work up the nerve to clean up the spider because I seriously thought it might come back to life again!

I swear this spider was bigger than my hand!  It was insane!

So, sadly, my last memorable moment of Montana was the monster spider.

Then another 15 hours of traveling.  Which again…we will not speak of.  It was just awful!  It was so bad I almost broke down in tears while flying home.  It sucked.

Anyways, I had a good time, even if I am covered in bug bites right now.  Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!

Oscar Wilde came to me last night too dad

So I leave for Montana at the god-awful t ime of 5 in the morning tomorrow.  Which means I have to be at the airport around 4:15ish.  Which means I will be dragging my butt out of bed around 3:30 in the morning.  That’s around the same time a lot of my B-shift coworkers are just going to bed.

For some reason that makes me kind of depressed.

I plan to be very sleep deprived this week.  When we get to Montana, it’s going to be about 5 my time, but only 1:30ish their time (ok it’s going to be 4:30 my time but whatever, 5 is close enough).  Then, we’re going to a rodeo that night.  I’m going to be exhausted.

Hopefully I can manage to sleep on the plane (which usually doesn’t happen b/c I’m unable to sleep like that…sigh).  If not, I’ll hopefully be able to take a nap back at the hotel or something.

Then, after the rodeo I’ll be back at the cabins with my sister with no cell phone or internet reception.  That’s going to be a bit weird.  So, don’t expect any fun updates during the week.  You probably won’t hear from me again until either Sunday or Monday.  (I know…you’re just heartbroken).

Anyways, hope everyone has a fantastic week!

Yay Montana!

Uh, Mr. President, Sir. People are becoming a bit… confused by the way your and your opponent are, well, constantly holding hands.

I had a really good weekend.  It was highly enjoyable.

Friday night consisted of my not-date outing that I accidentally agreed to and had a BLAST!  We just went to Friday’s and sat around drinking some beer (where I of course impressed not-date with my amazing beer drinking abilities).  Sadly, I’m not really kidding.  He felt sort of un-masculated (is that a word?) when I finished my beer (and ordered more) before him.  Good times were had by all.

Saturday was a surprise birthday for a friend’s brother.  Where I knew nobody…AND was the designated driver.  Not as enjoyable as the night before, but still had some nuggets of fun in there.

Sunday was a day of laziness.  Seriously.  I didn’t wake up until 12:30 that afternoon (and I still woke up before K haha) and spent the majority of the day sitting on the couch watching TV and movies.

However, I got to see Army of Darkness again, and I remembered how much I LOVE that god-awful movie.  Come on, any movie where a guy has a CHAINSAW for a hand and takes place back in the 1300s and he runs around chopping off people’s heads…ROCKS!  If you have never seen it, I highly recommend it for the classic lines such as, “this is my boomstick”, and “go home and cry to mama”.  Great movie!

I fly out to Montana on Wednesday for J’s wedding!  Yay Montana!

Lastly, I listened to the radio on the way to work today and heard the best commercial for the Richmond State Fair (yes, I realize that Richmond is a city…not a state…but whatever).  Anyways, one of the attractions listed is “monkeys riding dogs”.

Am I the only one that is slightly horrified at this attraction…and yet HIGHLY INTERESTED in seeing such spectacle?  Seriously.  I keep picturing Oscar with a monkey on his back and I start to laugh.  I want to see the monkeys riding dogs!  Best attraction ever!

I can understand how they wouldn’t let in those wild jungle apes, but what about those really smart ones who live among us who roller-skate and smoke cigars?

I saw Harry Potter last night, and if I hadn’t read the book I’d have LOVED the movie…but having read the book I was kind of disappointed.  :-(

I feel like they left out a lot of important things and there were some random plot continuity issues, but I was still highly amused and entertained during the movie so it was worth seeing it.  :-)

And before the movie I managed to run 2.5 miles in 24 minutes which is amazing for me.  However, I was sweating a lot (it was like 95 degrees).  I usually try to cool off for about 20 minutes or so before I shower in order to stop sweating, but I had no time to wait so I felt disgusting.  I swear I was still sweating while showering, and then after showering I still felt sweaty and super hot.  It was gross.

I was so disgusting I worried about leaving sweat marks on my shirt on the way to the movie.  It was awful.  Who else sweats that much?  Seriously…it was weird.

I also stayed out too late last night and felt awful all day today.

And I also think that I may have accidentally agreed to go on a date tomorrow night, but I’m not entirely sure.  Who doesn’t know if they’ve agreed to go on a date???

Anyways, I have kickball tonight so I’m on my way.  Hope everyone is having a wonderful week so far!

This anonymous clan of slack-jawed troglodytes has cost me the election

So far the working out has been going well this week.  Yay working out!

Yesterday I ran 5 miles and today I went back to the gym for the first time in over a week.  I’m definitely sore and I’m kind of dreading how I’m going to feel tomorrow.

I also randomly got A LOT of compliments today.  It was odd.

We got a bunch of new fixers in the bay (and they’re cute!  and young!  too bad I work with them), and one of them was talking to his friend and I overheard him talking about me and saying I was cute.  Nice.  :-)

Then, I ran into a guy that I used to work with in my last job, who got moved to the MC in the last re-org and he started telling me how he loves running into me because I’m always smiling and fun to talk to and I always put him in a good mood.  And apparently all the people he works with also love me.

Then, one of my operators was telling me how awesome I’ve been looking lately and he can tell I’ve lost a lot of weight (and I honestly haven’t lost any, but that was fun).   And about 4 people told me they loved my shirt.

Seriously, I’m freaking wearing that shirt EVERYDAY if that’s the reaction I get from people when I wear it.

Well, sir, I won’t bore you with the details of our miraculous escape, but we desperately need a real emergency exit!

Ahh…kickball.  How I Love/LOATHE you!

It always starts out so innocently.  A bunch of grown people standing around a kickball field waiting for the games to begin.  Someone pulls out the cooler of beer, and the next thing you know we’re 2 or 3 beers in.  Then there’s the gathering AFTER the game.  The one where we head to the sponsor bar for our $2 drafts and I stay out WAY too late for my 5:30 wake up call.

It always seems like such a fun idea, until I’m waking up the next morning exhausted and kicking myself for being so stupid the night before.

I somehow even convinced myself that I didn’t need as much sleep because this week is shut-down week and I’m not really doing my normal tasks.  Ok…I hate myself right now.  I’m so tired and feel ill AND I swear everyone at work is being such a pain in the ass!

It didn’t help I didn’t get my morning cup of coffee thanks to the lazy employees at Dunkin Donuts this morning.  I stopped in on my way to work for a yummy iced coffee (the thought of that is pretty much the only thing that got me out of bed this morning) and the doors were locked and the lights were out.  The lady who works there came out and said her morning shift people never showed up so there were no donuts or coffee ready for purchase.  Sigh.  I almost cried.

Ooh…but on a completely non-related note, I had my first running casualty on Tuesday.  I couldn’t figure out why my toe was KILLING me as I was running.  I get home and took off my shoe and my sock was red from blood.  Never a good sign.

I took off my sock along with the majority of my middle toe nail.  I have NO idea why it fell off.  It was one of the few nails that WASN’T bruised or unhappy looking.  It just kind of ripped off.  Ouch.  So now I have a little tiny piece of my nail that’s still attached.  I’m just hoping enough of the nail grows back to paint for the wedding in about two weeks.  If not I’m gonna have some funky looking toes in my flip flops.
Also, if my nail doesn’t grow back, I dread the looks I get from the lady giving me a pedicure.  This already happened once before L’s wedding…I really don’t need it to happen again for J’s wedding.  Sigh.

Anyways, hope everyone is enjoying their week!  Only 9 more miles for the week!

Are there any jive talking robots in the play?

And today is another cop-out post where I resort to using bullet points to talk about random things with absolutely no connection!

Yay!

  • I met the newest addition to our family this past weekend.  As I suspected…she’s perfect.  We hung out together on Friday and Saturday (I let her mom hang out with us as well…but she was just kind of extra people in the room hehe).  I’m always amazed at the perfect babies my sister has.  She does good work :-)
  • I also hung out with other family members this weekend, but they’re not as important :-)
  • I have further proof of my ability to mess up anything electrical.  J and JP were driving me to a barbecue and the car died while we stopped to get some ice and dessert to bring and needed to be jumped in the parking lot.  Then proceeded to die AGAIN as we were driving.  The car just shut off.  Luckily we were close to the house at this point so we were able to coast our way in front of the house.  It was close though.
  • I have also proven to myself that cleaning is BAD!  I got home early yesterday afternoon so I decided to do some laundry and clean my room.  I keep my TV on top of my dresser and I have (well…had) a turtle thing that sat on top of the TV.  While putting away the clean laundry in my dresser I somehow knocked the turtle off the top of the TV and it fell directly on top of my head (this thing weighs a couple of pounds…it’s not exactly light).  I actually thought I had split open my head (lucky for me I have a hard head and it wasn’t bleeding) but I almost threw up so that was fun.  So I’m pretty sure I gave myself a mild concussion.  However, I did have my revenge against the turtle.  Him falling on my head caused his head to snap off.  Ha.  My head wins.
  • My head still hurts if I touch it.  And I have a HUGE lump on the top of my head.  It’s actually kind of visible with my hair pulled back.  I contemplated doing the whole “wall bangs” look today…then decided that was just stupid.
  • I’m at work today.  I don’t want to be here.  We’re doing shutdown week.  Which somehow went from 6 days to 4.  So now I have 6 days of cleaning tasks to get finished in 4 days.  Yay me!
  • While helping to get some of the conveyor systems opened I managed to bend my thumbnail all the way about half way down my thumb.  It didn’t fall off but it is currently purple and bruised and hurts like you wouldn’t believe!  Stupid cleaning!  Bad!
  • I’m wearing jeans tomorrow.  I don’t care if I get in trouble.  I’m covered in dust, glue, and God knows what else.  I will not dirty another pair of nice pants like this this week.  Stupid cleaning.  (See…yet MORE proof it is bad!).
  • Is it time to go home yet?

Anyways (which I got told this weekend isn’t really a word and I shouldn’t use it…but I continue to anyway), hope everyone has a fantastic week!

Easy work out schedule this week:
Monday - NOTHING! (I was supposed to run 8.5 miles, but after almost splitting my head open I had no desire to run)
Tuesday - Run 8.5 miles (Ha…they WILL get done!)
Wednesday - Kickball
Thursday - Run 5 miles
Friday - Run 4 miles
Saturday - Nothing
Sunday - Probably nothing.   Go me!

Taking a break from the gym.  Nothing but running for me this week.  And possibly returning home this weekend AGAIN for my mom’s 60th birthday celebration.  I need to live closer to home.  So sick of this traveling!
