I think I’ll remember my own LIFE

I had a great 5 day weekend back North.

I got to spend Thursday with my parents (yay birthday too!).  I had my first of 4 birthday dinners with them.  A lovely crab stuffed tilapia and broccoli (so yummy).  And I got some fun orange kitchen stuff and a tank of gas for my birthday.  (Um…the tank of gas was an awesome gift!).

I spent Friday afternoon with my sister L at her new place in North Jersey and got to see my adorable nephews and niece.  And I got to watch Fragglerock with J and H.  I LOVE that show and I was so excited to watch it again.  That evening I went out to dinner with P for my second birthday dinner.  We went to my favorite Turkish restaurant in Weehawken and I had the awesome lamb and yoghurt meal.  I miss that restaurant SO MUCH!

Saturday was spent in the city with P.  We hung out in the Village and SOHO.  I love the city.  Miss it so much.

I love the first moment I step into the city and just feel like I’m home again.  I can’t even begin to describe the feeling.  Most people I know get a little stressed and freaked out when they enter the city, but I just relax and get a feeling of peace.  It’s weird.  I just feel like it’s where I belong. 

Later that night, we went to L’s house for my third birthday dinner.  It was a meat smorgasboard.  They made ribs (Oh my god AMAZING ribs), steak, burgers, sausages, and hot dogs.  There were also some fun side dishes, but I was in such a meat coma I barely even noticed. 

Sunday was back in the city for my 4th birthday meal at Sushi Samba.  Which is an amazingly weird combination of Brazilian and Japanese food, that was incredible. 

I had a great birthday weekend and now I want to move back to the area again.  I was kind of depressed when I had to go back South yesterday.

I was also supposed to go running just ONCE this past weekend…but didn’t get around to it.  Apparently I was too busy eating.  I was a complete lazy ass.  I’m hoping that all the walking I did this past weekend will help make up for it. 

I was also supposed to run 8 miles today, but I’m just exhausted today, so I completely bailed and spent the afternoon sitting on the couch watching TV.  Which means tomorrow is going to suck.  Because then I HAVE to run the 8 miles.  Sigh. 

Anyways, back to watching TV.

So, I’m still not entirely sure I like the new blog format.  And I’m pretty sure it wasn’t worth the blog being down for the week. 

But…at least it’s working now.  So yay! 

However, luckily, I’m ridiculously boring so it should be relatively easy to update you all

• I went to a bachelorette party for a friend of mine who is getting married in Jamaica.  Unfortunately, it was on Friday night, and I had to work at 6:30 on Saturday morning, so I couldn’t stay out very late.  I left after dinner so it was a pretty tame night.  However, I did meet a really weird guy in the bar which is just so typical of me.  Sigh. 
• Work on Saturday sucked.  And I made my first employee cry (I had to write her up).  Then wanted to cry myself.  Sigh.  Hate being in charge of people. 
• I was going to go running on Sunday and got sick instead.  That totally rocked. 
• The weather was AMAZING yesterday.  It was only 70 degrees with a nice breeze.  It was still pretty humid, but oh my god it was so nice I HAD to go running.  So I skipped the gym and went running at the big park.  Where it’s beautiful but kind of isolated (so slightly creepy). 
• Before running, I went to the gym to get changed and got in a “fight” with the trainer over how far I was allowed to run.  She said a maximum of 4…and I was arguing I wanted to run more.  So, I won.  I ran 7 miles and it was amazing!  Best run in forever.  I had such a great time. 
• The run reminded me why I love running.  It’s been a while since I’ve enjoyed running and it was great. 
• Today at work kind of sucked.  But, only 5 more working days until this rotation is over!  Woohoo! 
• I’m going to NY for my birthday.  I’m super duper excited!
• Oh yeah, my birthday is this Thursday.  I’m going to be 27…yet I still feel like I’m about 18.  I remember my sisters when they were 27 and they seem a lot older than I do. 
• Yay 5 day weekend! 

Ok, I feel like I had other things I was supposed to talk about…but I forget what it was…so hope everyone is having a great week!
